ExtraCurricular Activities

Travis Heights Elementary has different optional programming and extracurricular activities. The following list is meant to help families understand the different options. Note that these are run by volunteer teachers and parents and have limited capacity.

Traditional Mexican folk dance group open to girls and boys. Contact Ms. Rostro for more information.

Group bike ride to school with neighborhood pickup stops every Wednesday. Contact parent leader, Dave Goss, for more information. 

Students learn and practice cheers and routines to perform at Friday morning assemblies. Contact Ms. Torres and Ms. Navarro for more information.

Teacher-led after-school choir for students in grades 3-5. Contact Ms. King for more information. 

After-school STEM program for 4th and 5th grade girls featuring hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math activities. Contact Ms. Caiseda for more information.

Six-week program offered each semester that offers various enrichment opportunities* based on age, availability, and staff/parent volunteers. Provided by a grant from the City of Austin, with more information available here.

Run the track with friends every Tuesday morning. Contact parent leader, Bryan Klingner, for more information.

4th and 5th grade students help with morning arrival, including opening car doors and assisting younger students during drop-off. Contact Coach Kreytak for more information.

5th grade students provide technical support for Friday assemblies and other school events. Contact Mr. Massman for more information. 

Group walk to and from school from Travis Park Apartments, led by City of Austin crossing guards. Contact Sura Jasim for more information.
